‘Chasin’ the Sun’ renewed on Discovery Channel
Visit Panama City Beach’s award-winning television series, “Chasin’ The Sun,” wraps up its third season Saturday on Discovery Channel, where it will return for a fourth season in January 2019.
“Discovery Channel has provided a wonderful platform to showcase many aspects of our destination in addition to our abundant fishing opportunities, and we’re thrilled to renew with them for a fourth season,” said Visit Panama City Beach President and CEO Dan Rowe. “We’re excited to see what the next season brings and look forward to the opportunity to share the unique culture that makes our beach a year-round family destination.”
The fishing and coastal lifestyle television program filmed in Panama City Beach showcases the diverse angling, diving and cultural opportunities found in and around the area’s emerald green waters. Panama City Beach offers abundant inshore, near shore and offshore opportunities for anglers of all skill levels from its piers and directly from the sugar-white sands of its 27 miles of beachfront. The show has featured popular species such as redfish, cobia, pompano, grouper, snapper, tarpon and kingfish.
“Chasin’ The Sun” debuted in 2016 on Sportsman Channel with 13 original episodes, then moved to Destination America and NBC Sports Network for its second season. The series is produced in partnership with Pinfish Media. Catch this season’s final show at 7 a.m. Saturday on the Discovery Channel, which reaches nearly 100 million U.S. households. Episode 13 explores the legacy of memorial reefs.
